No. DNS TXT validation is required only before SSLassist connects to a public endpoint. An uploaded public certificate can be monitored immediately, even when it belongs to an internal, VPN-only or private-address service.
Yes. A verified domain covers itself and its subdomains. You can also provide the public TLS port when it is not the usual port 443.
